Mayor Proclamation Nolanville: A Purple Heart City

During the January 5, 2023, Nolanville City Council Meeting, Mayor Andy Williams proclaimed Nolanville to be a designated Purple Heart City, honoring and remembering those who have sacrificed so much to defend our freedoms and in doing so have been awarded a Purple Heart decoration by the United States Military.

The Purple Heart award, the oldest military medal in the nation, is awarded to those who have been wounded or killed while serving in the U.S. military.

To be declared an official Purple Heart City, an official proclamation must be acknowledged and signed by a City's Mayor and then presented to the local chapter of the military order of the Purple Heart.

“By proclaiming Nolanville as a Purple Heart City, we’re commanding ourselves to remember the bravery and selfless acts of service that the men and women of the armed forces have shown,” said Mayor Andy Williams.

Are you or a loved one a recipient of the Purple Heart award? We are planning a special ceremony and would like to include you. Please contact Nolanville Community Outreach & Public Affairs Coordinator, Jennifer Shidler so that we may include you in these special moments.
