End of School Splash celebrates the beginning of Summer in a wet way

For Release Time

May 23, 2022

Nolanville— May 23, 2022 — On May 27, from 6-8 PM, The City of Nolanville will be celebrating the official start of summer and the last day of Killeen Independent School Corporation’s year with a water party for the whole community.

“We always get questions toward the end of May about when the Splash Pad at Monarch Park will open and with recent repairs done to the splash pad itself and the hotter than normal temperatures already this year, we thought it would be a perfect time to officially open up the Splash Pad for the summer and make an evening of it,” said Kerry Fillip, Nolanville Economic Development Coordinator.

In addition to the Splash Pad and playground amenities, Fillip said that the city plans to have a hot dog cook out, water balloons, squirt guns, family games and ribbons.

“This is our way of kicking off a summer where we hope to keep the community interested and inspired by the various parks and activities for this summer,” said Fillip.

The Nolanville Lions Club will be on hand making snow cones for a sweet, cold treat as well as a DJ playing music for everyone to dance to.

“We want this to be an easy-going, fun event where we can hang out with the community and celebrate the start of summer,” Fillip said. “Our goal is to see people enjoy it and have fun.”

Monarch Park is at 100 Gold Star Avenue, Nolanville.
